DogGroups.com Listing Guidelines
DogGroups.com and its directory are setup to provide users with resources to subjects of interest in the world of pets. The directory is setup in a similar hierarchy used on many other sites to provide a familiar atmosphere for users. The hierarchy is arranged into separate subject areas and becomes more specific as the hierarchy is drilled down.
Please note that we are not a search engine, rather a collection of resources on the subject of dogs and animals. Originally we were a dog only directory but have added resources for other pets in order to provide our users with a more enjoyable, complete experience. Please note that we do not accept every pet related site that is submitted. We do not accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted. The goal of this directory is to provide resources to the most useful sites to our users, not list every pet site in the Internet.
To save everyone time in submitting new sites for review, please follow the specific guidelines listed below. By following these guidelines it helps us in adding sites quicker and saves you time from having to resubmit your site.
1. Please write a proper title for your listing. The title should not contain all caps and should match the title in the browser when pulling the page up.
2. Please provide a brief description of your site in a sentence structure. Do not include promotional or subjective language such as “Best Site on the Net”, Best Resource Ever”, “Most Comprehensive Resource”.
3. The homepage of a site may only be submitted to one category. If you have questions as to the best category for your site, please contact us.
4. Deep linking of a site is listing different sections of a site in the same root URL. We allow this and encourage it, as it helps users find the exact page of your site they are looking for. For instance the site DogGroups.com contains a Dog Pictures section and a Chat section . The Chat section of the site could be added to a Chat and Forums category and the Pictures section of the site could be placed in a Dog Pictures category.
5. You MUST include a reciprocal link back to DogGroups.com on the page you are submitting. For example, if you submit your homepage, the text link below needs to appear on the page. In addition, if you add deep links to the directory, the text link needs added to each page submitted.
In providing a well-written title and description it provides a better experience for everyone. We reserve the right to reject or edit any submission that does not follow the guidelines. We also reserve the right to delete or reject any site at our sole discretion.
As always, DogGroups.com welcomes your suggestions and comments to make our directory better. Please let us know if you have ideas on improving our directory by contacting us at webmaster@doggroups.com. Thank you for your time and interest.
